In the June 2024 Virginia Congressional 5th District contests, the majority of Nellysford voters voted differently than the majority of Nelson County voters. More Nellysford GOP voters went for challenger John McGuire, while most Nelson County Republicans voted for Bob Good, the incumbent. Democrat Paul Riley got a majority (by one vote) over Gloria Witt in Nellysford. Nelson County Democrats (and elsewhere) voted for Witt by a wide margin.
