I laughed when I read Mark and Sarah Mitchell's business card. "Finally! A company that repairs window screens," it said. Exactly, but I'd add, "And even screen porches." I didn't know what I was going to do until I found their business, Onsite Window Screening Pros of Virginia (540-705-1001, windowscreeningprosva@gmail.com) based in Harrisonburg, Va. Last week, they finished completely rescreening our 25-year-old screen porch using a low profile, sophisticated, aluminum and vinyl framing system. The job took three days, one to tear down the old screen and frames, and two to custom-make a screen frame for each of the 21 spaces. If and when a screen is damaged, these frames make it possible to replace the screen cloth easily. Mark said they can take on any window screening situation.
