We had our first experience with Lotts Appliance repair service (540-337-3445) and were pleased. The Stuarts Draft-based service came out just a day after we called about our refrigerator's recalcitrant ice maker and "a funny noise" in the top. They rapidly diagnosed both issues on their first visit. Their second visit to put the parts in place took only minutes. They arrived on time and the bill was reasonable. I would like to recommend Christina Chaplin for home cleaning services. We inherited Christina when we purchased our house in Stoney Creek two years ago. She is a hard worker, professional, diligent, brings her own supplies and does a great job. She has solved all the special cleaning issues we have run into. She will use the type of cleaners you request and steam mops my tile floors. I trust her with a key to my house and she comes in when we are away. She also does special cleaning projects for me. Christina has been handling cleaning turn over for rental properties at Wintergreen but would like to fill in some slots with regular weekly houses. She charges by the job and is competitive. I also like how I can pay her by PayPal on my phone!  Her number is 540-448-7019. We highly recommend Perry G’s Custom Painting for exterior house painting.  He recently completed an extensive project on our home which included power washing, repairing and painting siding and deck, and replacing screening, lattices, and rotted wood. He has a good, courteous team of painters and carpenters, most of them long term. * If you need someone to clean your windows, I highly recommend Andy Burdetsky who recently cleaned our windows and screens. If the bulletin came with a soundtrack, you'd be listening to "I Can See Clearly Now" as you read this. Andy and his wife Krista worked diligently and stealthily around us and our dogs as if we weren't even in the house. Andy is very conscientious, professionial, reliable and personable. We did have some screens that were on their last leg and discovered that Andy also replaces the mesh on screens; he came back a few weeks later to do just that and the result was awesome. I highly recommend Patty Snapp to clean your home. Patty cleaned our house when we lived in Stoney Creek and she is wonderful. She is trustworthy and reliable. I highly recommend Blue Ridge Chimney. Their phone number is 540-217-2030. We used them when we purchased our home in December. Their communication was excellent. The gentleman arrived on time and conducted an inspection. Inspection revealed the chimney didn’t need to be cleaned. Instead, he took the time to give us a demonstration on how to start a fire - he told us we did have some downdraft and it could make starting a fire problematic. My propane furnace failed during the recent cold snap. It had previously been inspected by another HVAC company that I will no longer use. The old furnace failed because the burner tubes were bad. They wouldn’t have been gone at the last inspection but considering how seldom we have to use the furnace there should have been warning signs. Kennedy Heating and Air Conditioning (540-456-8081) got it replaced in time for our recent trip and the cost was reasonable. I plan to start using them for my inspections. Submitted by Robert Peirce. Kennedy Heating and Air Conditioning have impressed us. The house we purchased in Stoney Creek has a very sophisticated system–an LP gas furnace, a heat pump, plus air conditioning with two thermostats connected to the wifi, plus humidifiers. The tech out of the Afton-based firm was an expert with it. Prices are reasonable. When we needed a new LP furnace, they handled the complex job with ease. Call them for HVAC work at 540-456-8081.
