We took several bikes over to Charlottesville Community Bikes and they were very appreciative. The non-profit accepts donated used bicycles of all shapes, sizes, and ages. If they can't refurbish it, they recycle the bike for parts for other bikes. The bikes are for adults as well as kids. They offer bicycle repairs and train teenagers in the process. We would like to compliment Rob Moses of Blue Ridge Building & Home Safety Solutions (434-202-4054) following the replacement of our two decks. We have lived in Wintergreen for approximately 25 years and have built two homes here, one on the mountain and one in Stoney Creek. We have dealt with many contractors, subcontractors, handymen, tradesmen, and such. It is difficult to find someone willing to come to this location, do a good job, and be pleasant at the same time. I hired Darrel Fortune, (Fortune Electric, 540-241-3398) to install a 240-volt outdoor outlet on the side of my house so I can plug in my portable Level 2 vehicle charger. Running the electric line from the panel in my basement to a suitable location outside was a challenge, but Darrel came up with a great plan and executed it perfectly. Our refrigerator's French doors stopped closing properly without a nudge, and the gaskets around them had started fraying, so I called the guy recommended in a recent WBB–Jason Lester (434-566-9800). He came out in a couple of days. He first expertly got the frig doors right and then went shopping online for the new refrigerator gaskets using his phone. He found a source with a good price on the new parts. A few days later, he installed the new gaskets when it was convenient for us. The price for the labor was reasonable; he was pleasant to work with, and he left the kitchen as tidy as he found it. We've moved many times–across town, across the state, and the country. Without a doubt, in all of those experiences, Premier Moving of Staunton (540-480-0602) was the best service we've ever had. Their team was prompt, professional, and polite. The team on moving day operated with speed, care and precision. It was clear within the first few minutes they had a plan, everyone knew their role, and they worked quickly to empty the house (on a steep incline and with many sets of stairs). Even our builder was surprised by the lack of any damage to walls or floors because the team was so careful. If you’re looking for someone to remodel your home, Billy Campbell is your man! Billy hasn’t left Treeloft Village in years for a good reason. Neighbors keep signing him up after seeing his superior work, hearing about his integrity, and being charmed by his good nature. Billy beautifully remodeled my place at 29 Pinnacle Drive. The new fireplace is the highlight. Billy repurposed 100-plus-year-old wood to create a unique and charming centerpiece.
