Martin, Tripp, Phil, and the whole team at Charlottesville Tree Service (434-939-2025) are true professionals. We had a complex job that involved taking down eight trees and asked for minimal disturbance to the surrounding trees and no nicking of the nearby house. This called for some delicate work! Every piece of tree was roped and gently placed on the ground, with amazing feats of engineering. They did an excellent job and I give them my highest recommendation. Submitted by Brenda Kessler. For those of you who are trying to lose those pounds gained during the pandemic, I recommend TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). The local Nellysford TOPS chapter now meets at Tuckahoe Clubhouse in the Card Room on Tuesdays at 5 PM (weigh-in at 4:45 PM). This chapter has been in the community for 10 years and is one of many chapters in the US and Canada. TOPS is a non-profit, non-commercial network of weight-loss groups that offers tools and programs for healthy living, wellness, and weight management. Responding to the recent request for home builder recommendations, consider Sun Structures. Inc., owned and operated by John Donne and his son Timothy. John has been a home builder in this area for over 35 years. He constructed our house in Stoney Creek, which we purchased new in 2006. He has also built homes on Wintergreen mountain, among many others in this area. While looking at homes in Stoney Creek, we visited our house periodically while under construction before deciding to purchase it. We met John several times and were impressed with the quality of the work and the time he spent with us detailing the many aspects of the construction and the fact that he was (and still is) a hands-on builder. In the following years, we hired John on a number of projects in and around our home, including finishing our basement and several carpentry projects.
